A film released in 1969 in which Hayao Miyazaki provided key animation designs, storyboards, and story ideas for key scenes in the film, including the climactic chase scene. Based on the story by Charles Perrault, somewhat Disneyfied, with some mediocre songs and the addition of comic characters.

Released in 1992. Directed by Hayao Miyazaki. The Crimson Pig is a human sea-plane bounty hunter in the Adriatic between wars who has been cursed to wear the shape of a pig. He regains his humanity though a young, female, aircraft designer named Fio.

Released in 1994. Directed by Isao Takahata from a concept by Hayao Miyazaki. Japanese raccoons attempt to take back their homelands in Tama Hills from human developers.

Released in 1995. Directed by Mamoru Oshii. Adapted from the manga 'Ghost in the Shell' by Masamune Shirow. Not a Studio Ghibli film and far more grim and gritty. One of the first anime films to seamlessly blend computer and cell animation and to be popular in the regular English-speaking world. A mysterious puppet master is taking over people. Its sequel was co-produced by Ghibli.

Released in 1999. Directed by Isao Takahata in an experimental style. Based on the yonkoma manga 'Nono-chan' by Hisaichi Ishii. This is the first completely digital Studio Ghibli movie. The film relates anecdotal, comic misadventures of the Yamada family.

Released in 2002. Directed by Hiroyuki Morita. Supposedly a story by the protagonist of 'Whisper of the Heart'. A girl discovers the magical world of cats, but is gradually being changed into a cat, until rescued by a living cat statue. Created by the younger animators at Studio Ghibli and rather light-weight.

Released in 2004. Directed by Hayao Miyzaki, based on a fantasy novel by Diana Wynne Jones. A wizard who has lost his heart attempts to avoid being used in a war, falls in love with the heroine (transformed into an old woman), and regains his heart. Lots of CGI.

Released in 2006. Directed by Mamoru Hosoda. Not connected with Studio Ghibli in any way, but generally praised as being similar in style to some Ghibli products and equal in quality. A teenage girl discovers she can leap back in time and correct any mistakes she has made, but then finds that her corrections often produce worse results. A sequel to the book of the same name by Yasutaka Tsutsui.

Released in 2008. Directed by Hayao Miyazaki. A reworking of the "Little Mermaid" story, in which the 5-year old, fish-shaped daughter of an undersea wizard and a sea-goddess wishes to live on land as a human being in company with a 5-year old boy named Sosuke. English theatrical release occurred on August 14, 2009; DVD to follow, March 2, 2010. No CGI. All classical drawn animation.
