![]() | Fantastic Mr. Fox (Three-Disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo + Digital Copy)
Buy new: $23.49 / Used from: $17.42 By far Wes Anderson's best film to date and my favorite film of 2009. Every time I see it I find more reasons to love it. 10/10
![]() | The Hurt Locker [Blu-ray]
Buy new: $20.99 / Used from: $11.21 Director Bigelow has crafted the best drama of the year in this engaging character study of a man with an unusual addiction. 10/10
![]() | Moon [Blu-ray]
Buy new: $16.99 / Used from: $10.25 In a year where the most successful films was a fairly brainless so-called "sci-fi" film this low-budget sci-fi thriller from first time director Duncan Jones easily takes a place as one of the best sci-fi films of the decade! 10/10 Stars
![]() | Star Trek (Three-Disc Edition) [Blu-ray]
Buy new: $23.99 / Used from: $14.47 Star Trek is back with a vengeance! Whether you're a Trekkie or a casual filmgoer this is the best blockbuster of the year. 10/10
![]() | Up (Four-Disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo + BD Live) [Blu-ray]
Buy new: $17.99 / Used from: $12.85 It's hard to follow-up a masterpiece such as Wall-E but needless to say: Pixar succeeds again. 10/10
![]() | District 9 [Blu-ray]
Buy new: $23.99 / Used from: $8.78 Aliens as a metaphor for racism in South Africa? District 9 is an unexpected gem. 10/10
![]() | Zombieland [Blu-ray]
Buy new: $26.99 / Used from: $14.39 America's reply to British made comedy Shaun of the Dead, Zombieland is a laugh-a-minute parody that is just as good as its British counterpart. 9/10
![]() | Drag Me to Hell
Buy new: $15.99 / Used from: $1.48 Sam Raimi, the master of modern Horror-Camp returns after the Spider-Man trilogy and easily reminds everyone how fun a horror film can be. You'll squirm, you'll laugh- Drag Me To Hell is some of the most fun Hollywood has had to offer in years. 9/10
![]() | Inglourious Basterds (2-Disc Special Edition) [Blu-ray]
Buy new: $19.99 / Used from: $12.33 Tarantino's homage to classic WWII films has its ups and downs, but is a thoroughly entertaining ride. Not as witty as the great Pulp Fiction or as entertaining as Kill Bill, Vol. 1, it still is a worthy addition to the director's portfolio. 9/10
![]() | Adam
Buy new: $15.99 / Used from: $3.05 Adam is a unique romantic comedy/drama that left me completely moved. Adam's case of aspergers is of course dramaticly exagerated for the sake of the film, but not so much as to be offensive so the final result is a sweet, likable character. 9/10
![]() | Michael Jackson: This Is It [Blu-ray]
Buy new: $26.99 / Used from: $8.90 This glimpse of Michael Jackson's planned comeback tour is really an informative film. The King of Pop justifies his crown with this film. 9/10
![]() | The Princess and the Frog (Single Disc Widescreen)
Buy new: $19.49 / Used from: $6.08 I didn't have high hopes for this film, but I was pleasantly surprised by this kind-hearted return to Disney animated tradition. I can only hope that we see more of traditional animated films from Disney. 8/10
![]() | Coraline (Single-Disc Edition w/ 3D)
Buy new: $13.49 / Used from: $4.20 A fun animated romp from the director of The Nightmare Before Christmas. 8/10
![]() | Avatar (Two-Disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo) [Blu-ray]
Buy new: $21.99 / Used from: $14.33 James Cameron's new Box Office SMASHER is entertaining for most of its running time, but far be it from the revolutionary film that the hype lead me to believe. I had high hopes and was ultimately disappointed by this Cameron ego trip. 8/10
![]() | I Love You, Man
Buy new: $15.49 / Used from: $2.29 An entertaining comedy about finding your true man friend. 8/10
![]() | Where the Wild Things Are [Blu-ray]
Buy new: $24.49 / Used from: $9.57 Channeling every negative child emotion Where the Wild Things Are is an enjoyable, if not depressing family feature. 8/10
![]() | Taken (Single-Disc Extended Edition)
Buy new: $8.49 / Used from: $2.88 A solid, tight little action picture that is quite entertaining...if not the most intelligent thriller out there. 8/10
![]() | The Hangover (R-Rated Single-Disc Edition)
Buy new: $13.99 / Used from: $6.38 The most hyped comedy of 2009 certainly had its fare share of funny moments, but in the end I found it to be just another disposable comedy not unlike many others released each year. 7/10
![]() | Public Enemies (Single-Disc Edition)
Buy new: $13.49 / Used from: $2.53 Johnny Depp proves he doesn't have to be Burton's stooge as he gives a truly compelling performance. The only problem is that the film never concentrates enough on Dillinger, thus Depp doesn't have a chance. 7/10
![]() | Bruno
Buy new: $16.49 / Used from: $0.25 Sacha Baron Cohen's latest character is not nearly as likable as Borat; in fact I had trouble putting up with the guy. Unlike Borat most of the jokes look staged and he just goes out of his way to get reactions. At least it was entertaining. 7/10
![]() | Watchmen (Theatrical Cut) (Widescreen Single-Disc Edition)
Buy new: $11.99 / Used from: $0.93 There's a difference between adapting a comic and copying it frame by frame. Watchmen proves that the story really does work better as a graphic novel than as a motion picture. 7/10
![]() | Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs
Buy new: $16.49 / Used from: $4.50 Another added sequel to the franchise fails to impress. 6/10
![]() | Terminator Salvation (Widescreen Edition)
Buy new: $11.99 / Used from: $2.55 Robotic performances from Christian Bale and Sam Worthington aren't the only flaw with this unnecessary sequel. 6/10
![]() | X-Men Origins: Wolverine (Two-Disc Edition + Digital Copy) [Blu-ray]
Buy new: $18.49 / Used from: $10.99 Really less of an origin story so much as a video game. 5/10

![]() | Friday the 13th (Extended Killer Cut)
Buy new: $14.99 / Used from: $0.29 Did we honestly need to have another Friday the 13th movie? 4/10
![]() | Gamer
Buy new: $13.49 / Used from: $1.46 The idea in of itself is stupid. 4/10
![]() | Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (Single-Disc Edition)
Buy new: $14.99 / Used from: $3.98 This is without a doubt THE lowest common denominator. I enjoyed Bay's first Transformers film, but this was just horrible from beginning to end. 3/10
